Broiler imports may drop 39 percent to 375,000 tons this year from 618,000 tons in 2010, as domestic poultry production increases, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service said Wednesday its web site.
Domestic consumption may drop 1.4 percent to 2.89 million tons from an estimated 2.93 million in 2010. Broiler-meat production may jump 9 percent to 2.52 million tons from 2.31 million a year earlier, according to the report.
