Pedestrians on Ulitsa Krasnaya Presnya in central Moscow were in for a surprise Wednesday when a duck joined the crowd to walk across the street — even taking care not to jaywalk.
The bird only started crossing the street when the pedestrian light flashed green, RIA-Novosti reported. After a moment’s hesitation, a pedestrian managed to catch the duck and carry it to the Moscow Zoo, located on a nearby street.
The duck, apparently scared, did not resist being captured, the report said. A zoo employee confirmed that the bird was likely a resident of the zoo, where ducks are allowed to roam free and sometimes leave the premises.
