A public organization said Tuesday that an independent probe has implicated LUKoil vice president Anatoly Barkov’s car in a crash that killed two women in February.
Police cleared Barkov’s driver in the crash last week, ruling that the other car, which carried both women, caused the incident after the driver lost control on a wet Moscow road.
But the Russian Federation of Car Owners dismissed the police findings and said two of three anonymous experts involved in its alternative investigation determined that the incident was caused by Barkov’s Mercedes, which was driving in the wrong lane. The third expert refused to give an opinion, citing insufficient data.
None of the parties involved commented on the independent investigation Tuesday.
