Nazriev, 55, was driving Wednesday from Dushanbe to the Garm region at the foot of the Pamir mountains when his car struck the mine, the agency said Thursday, quoting sources in the Tajik Security Ministry. Nazriev and a bodyguard were killed outright, and two aides were badly injured.
