MOSCOW -- Valery Saikin, formerly the chief engineer at the ZiL car and truck factory, has been named president and general director by the company's board of directors, Interfax reported Monday. Yevgeny Brakov will now take over the task of setting up a financial-industrial group to help adapt ZiL to a market economy, Interfax said. ZiL, Russia's second biggest truck-maker with the capacity to produce 1,000 trucks a day, now works four days a week, making about 200 trucks daily.
