MOGADISHU () -- The last 80 American diplomats and marines will be withdrawn from bandit-ridden Somalia by Sept. 15, the U.S. envoy in Mogadishu said Friday.
"We are leaving by the middle of September for two basic reasons: the strong feeling Somalis have not made substantial progress towards a settlement, and because the security situation just gets worse," a spokesman said.
The move comes in the wake of an attack Monday, in which Somali militia members killed seven Indian UN soldiers and wounded nine others
