NEW YORK — New York police said Tuesday that they wanted to talk to a man in Russia about the brutal stabbing deaths of a woman and her adult daughter.
Deputy Inspector Kim Royster said police believe that Nikolai Rakossi left New York on Sunday and arrived in Moscow on Monday.
The bodies of 56-year-old Tatyana Prikhodko and her 27-year-old daughter, Larisa, were discovered shortly before midnight on Sunday. Both worked as hospital nurses. Rakossi has been identified as the mother's companion.
New York police and the U.S. State Department are working with Russian authorities to determine Rakossi's whereabouts.
