U.S. Issues Visas For Players' Wives

SANTA CRUZ, California -- Russian team officials said that U.S. authorities have granted visas for players' wives and other members of their World Cup delegation. On Tuesday, they accused U.S. immigration authorities of delaying the entry visas for 12 members of their delegation, mostly players' and coaches' wives. "The issue seems to be resolved," Russian head coach Pavel Sadyrin said Wednesday. "My wife and a son were told they could pick up the visas in Moscow tomorrow." Russia's team security officer Valery Draganov said all the others, except one unidentified team member, were granted the American visas and were scheduled to arrive soon. Russia opens its World Cup campaign June 20 against Brazil.
