Tennis Star Hoad Dies

MADRID -- Lew Hoad, the Australian tennis star and twice Wimbledon champion, died Sunday evening in Malaga, Spain, an Australian embassy spokeswoman in Madrid said on Monday. Hoad, 59, had recently been diagnosed as having leukemia. In 1956, Hoad just missed winning all four Grand Slam events, winning the Australian and French Opens and Wimbledon, and then losing in the U.S. Open final to Ken Rosewall in four sets
