'Schindler's List' Ban

Malaysia banned the Oscar-winning Holocaust film "Schindler's List" because of what it saw as Jewish propaganda, a spokesman for the film's director said in London on Wednesday.

"The story reflects the privilege and virtues of a certain race only," said a letter from the censors' board to the film's distributor Universal International Pictures.

"The theme of the film is to reveal the brutality and cruelty of the Nazi soldiers to the Jews," it said of the black-and-white film about how a German war profiteer saved hundreds of Polish Jews from the Nazi Holocaust.
