Rwandans Kill 12

BUSANZE CAMP, Rwanda () -- Rwanda's government army said Monday its troops had attacked a camp in the southwest where 12 homeless people were slaughtered and more than 30 were wounded.

Rwanda Patriotic Army spokesman Major Wilson Rutyasire said two officers were arrested in connection with Saturday's attack on Busanze camp near the border with Burundi.

Rutyasire told reporters a grenade was thrown at an unauthorized RPA foot patrol outside the camp and the patrol opened fire.

Six months ago 6,000 Hutus sought sanctuary in Busanze as the Tutsi-dominated Rwanda Patriotic Front advanced across the country.
