Romanian Protests End

BUCHAREST -- Workers danced with joy and lit flaming torches from newspapers as they ended a three-day protest in Bucharest on Thursday after wrestling pay concessions from the minority left-wing government. "We've won. You can go home," union leader Bogdan Hossu told cheering labor protesters outside Prime Minister Nicolae Vacaroiu's office on Victory Square. Union bosses who had demanded 50 percent pay rises said the government had agreed to wage hikes of 8.3 percent to be reviewed quarterl
