The new selection avoids his typical vegetable assortment in favor of a winter-friendly meat melange. There are more than 20 varieties of Italian delicacies, including sausages, hams, venison and beef. The range is constantly varied.

That American comfort-food favorite, the Starlite Diner chain, has reopened its flagship branch on Bolshaya Sadovaya Ulitsa after the Thanksgiving Day fire. As before, the diner is serving the popular dishes that won it a legion of fans -- all available 24 hours a day.

Zoom magazine's editorial department, in conjunction with the professional photographic center Maxilab, has recently opened a new eatery -- Zoom Cafe. Not merely a cafe, however, the new establishment takes its lead from the photographic journal and offers guests a photo gallery combined with a cafe. On the bill are both free and paid photographic seminars and classes, and on weekends there are plans for various artistic conferences, film showings and meetings with well-known artists, directors and photographers. There is also the possibility to show your portfolio to photo experts and editors.

Another restaurant to recently reopen, this time at a new address, is the veteran Czech eatery U Shveika. Opened a decade ago in the Okhotny Ryad shopping center, the alehouse can now be found on Novy Arbat. The full range of Czech beers is still available, but the new venue now offers double the seating capacity and, unlike its old digs, a panoramic view from its large windows.
