Hollywood actor Paul Walker was remembered with a more than 40-car street rally in Omsk following "The Fast and the Furious" star's death in a car accident on Saturday.
The drivers' intentions didn't stop local police from handing out fines for violations of more than a dozen protocols, however, the regional police said Tuesday.
Police warned the 90 participants about traffic laws and then escorted the rally, Interfax reported
The drivers decorated their cars with pictures of the late 40-year-old Walker, who became famous for playing the role of an undercover cop who joins the world of underground street racing, and drove around the city's snowy streets before stopping outside a local mall, discussing the actor's death and heading home.
Walker, who was himself fascinated by racing, died in a single-car accident on Saturday near in Santa Clarita, California while riding in a Porsche being driven by his friend, racecar driver Roger Rodas. The untimely death prompted an outpouring of grief and condolences on social media from fans, co-stars and friends.
