Key NATO Meeting

BRUSSELS () -- U.S. Secretary of State Warren Christopher met key NATO allies Friday to discuss Bosnia and the alarming rash of nuclear smuggling cases, two major challenges facing the West.

NATO has been trying to develop a strategy to help prevent the leak of nuclear materials in the wake of the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. On Bosnia, France and Britain are the major contributors to the UN peacekeeping force there and have said they may withdraw their troops if, as Washington wants, an arms embargo is lifted to help the Moslems.
