TBILISI () -- A Georgian journalist working for the state news agency Tshakhinform was shot dead outside his home, the interior ministry said on Thursday.
Zurab Grdzelishvili, 42, was gunned down by a young man as he returned home late Wednesday night. No further details were immediately available.
Officials in the troubled former Soviet republic said it was the first death of a news agency journalist outside a war zone they could recall.
