Jews Protest Killings

JERUSALEM -- Jewish settlers blocked roads with burning tires and stoned Arab houses early Friday to protest the drive-by shooting death of a 17-year-old settler girl and a soldier in separate incidents. The two killings were blamed on Islamic militants bent on disrupting the Israeli-PLO autonomy negotiations. The Islamic Resistance Movement, or Hamas, warned in a leaflet distributed in the Gaza Strip that it would continue to attack Israeli soldiers and civilians, though it did not claim responsibility for the latest killings.
