India Cricket Win

CUTTACK, India () -- India thrashed the West Indies by eight wickets Wednesday to win the first ever one-day international series against the Caribbeans.


Chasing a difficult target of 252 runs in 50 overs, India scored 256 for the loss of only two wickets with four balls to spare in the eastern city of Cuttack.


A career-best knock of 104 by opener Ajay Jadeja and a swashbuckling 88 by Sachin Tendulkar gave India a 3-1 lead in the five-match series.
