India Bourse Shutdown

BOMBAY () -- India's largest bourse was shut Tuesday for a second day and brokers said they were worried its payments crisis would worsen as a late-night rescue deal seemed likely to fall apart.

Some brokers who were affected by the 170 million rupee ($5.4 million) payments crisis said they found the rescue package unacceptable.

"Most of us feel we are being asked to pay for somebody else's sins and we are victims of a mismanaged system," said Shripal Morakhia of brokers SS Kantilal Ishwarlal.
