Daewoo Doubtful

A deal to manufacture Daewoo cars at the Yelabuga car plant in Tatarstan is unlikely to be completed, Interfax quoted Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Shokhin as saying Monday.

Daewoo said late last year it was close to signing a final agreement on the $1.2 billion project. But Interfax said the Tatar government could not accept Daewoo's demands for tax breaks, and is now looking for another investor. General Motors is said to be the most likely candidate.
