Bank Ups Minimum

MOSCOW -- The Central Bank plans to raise the minimum capital requirement for commercial banks this month to keep up with inflation, Interfax quoted Dmitry Tulin, the bank's deputy chairman, as saying. The capital requirement is revised quarterly to represent the ruble equivalent of 1 million ecu ($1.21 million). It was last set on March 1 at 2 billion rubles, about $995,000 at the current exchange rate.
