Azeri Premier Faces Charges

The Azerbaijani parliament Friday lifted immunity from prosecution from former Azeri Prime Minister Suret Huseinov, dismissed last week by President Heidar Aliyev, who accused him of instigating an attempted coup, Interfax reported. It said the parliament, the Milli-Mejlis, also voted to launch criminal proceedings against Huseinov. Interfax quoted the speaker, Rasul Huliyev, as saying the former Prime Minister's present whereabouts were not known and appealing to the population to help find him and hand him over to the authorities.
