Ambulance doctors will go ahead with a threatened work-to-rule action Tuesday that will include refusing to transport dead bodies, despite warnings from the city health department that they could be held criminally responsible for the strike, a union leader said Monday.
Doctors in the city's ambulance service will continue to provide urgent medical aid as usual, but will merely record deaths when they are reported, according to Levon Akopov, leader of the working collective council.
The doctors are demanding the resignation of the head of the ambulance service as well as negotiations over better pay and working conditions.
