A Quick Trip to Kutuzovsky

Here is a route for people trying to get from the Palace Hotel on Tverskaya Ulitsa to Kutuzovsky Prospekt as quickly as possible.

If you look at a map, you will see that the two points are actually very close. You can get from one to the other very quickly, in theory, if you take Bolshaya Gruzinskaya Ulitsa to the Moscow Zoo, than continue on Konyushkovskaya Ulitsa near the American Embassy and the Russian White House. From there you drive over the bridge and end up on Kutuzovsky.

But Bolshaya Gruzinskaya Ulitsa has many traps to complicate your voyage. The first is waiting for you in front of a strange monument on Tishinskaya Ploshchad: The road there was closed a few weeks ago, but don't worry -- just drive around the small park located in the middle of the square and make your way back to Bolshaya Gruzinskaya.

Next you should continue straight ahead for several hundred meters, passing the Polish Embassy on your right and then turning right to Ulitsa Klimashkina.

Here you will find another obstacle: The Moscow government just finished repairs in front of the old German Embassy -- and then closed the road again to dig up some more asphalt nearby, closing this part of Bolshaya Gruzinskaya yet again.

Don't give up. Just keep driving down Klimashkina to the second intersection and turn left on to Malaya Gruzinskaya Ulitsa. Then drive straight ahead to the intersection with Ulitsa Krasnaya Presnya and turn there to the left.

Drive down this street to the first traffic light in the right lane, and then turn right on to Konyushkov- skaya Ulitsa. Now you can drive straight ahead to reach Kutuzovsky Prospekt.
