Russian authorities have busted a cell of the banned transnational Muslim Tablighi Jamaat group in Chita, detaining more than 20 of its members, including a few foreigners, RIA-Novosti reported Monday.
Police opened a criminal case against the leader, whose was not identified, the report said. Tablighi Jamaat, founded in India in 1926 as a spiritual Muslim reformist movement, was banned in Russia in May 2009.
