Passport photocopies and documents containing the personal data of clients of Sberbank's Udmurt branch have been found in an unauthorized landfill in Izhevsk, the republic of Udmurtia's capital.
Among the documents, some of which were dated 2008, were loan applications containing telephone numbers, addresses and other personal information, Interfax reported Wednesday.
The forms also provided information about the applicants' property, debt obligations, and payroll cards complete with account numbers.
A bank employee said that Sberbank outsourced waste disposal to another company and that the dump will be closed as soon as possible.
The bank's press office said that company employees have already retrieved the documents from the landfill.
