$2.9Bln for Soviet Deposits

The Finance Ministry plans to provide 85 billion rubles ($2.9 billion) next year to depositors in Sberbank whose accounts were frozen in 1991, Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin said Saturday.

Compensation this year will amount to 70 billion rubles, he told Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, according to a statement on the government web site.
