President Vladimir Putin appeared on Russian state television on Friday to address the French nation following the terror attack in the southern city of Nice on Thursday evening.
At least 84 people were killed.
?€?I understand that the president of the French Republic, like the rest of the French leadership, has no time for telephone conversations, that's why I want to address him publicly. Dear Francois, Russia knows what terrorism means and the threat it poses to all of us. Our nation has not only seen similar tragedies, but is also deeply shaken with what has happened and stands in solidarity with the French nation,?€? Putin said.
One Russian citizen was killed in the attack and the whereabouts of three others is unknown.
