10,000 NATO Soldiers to Take Part in Baltic Military Exercises

Some 10,000 soldiers from 12 countries are to take part in NATO military drills across the Baltic today, the Interfax news agency reported Friday.

Of those participating, 3,500 servicemen are from foreign countries, mostly the United States. Finland is the only non-NATO member to participate in the exercise.

The drills will also see a delivery of soldiers, equipment and weapons to the Baltic states, Interfax reported, citing the Finnish media.

The NATO exercises will last until June 13.
