Gale Winds Rip Roof Off Apartment Building In Russian Town

Powerful winds on Monday ripped the roof off a five-story apartment building in Siberia's Krasnoyarsk region, the Russian region's Emergency Situations Ministry said in a statement.

Videos posted online of the incident in the Siberian town of Dudinka showed the roof being peeled off the sprawling building by forceful blasts, and then slamming to the ground.

No injuries have been reported. No people or cars were in the building's courtyard at the time of the incident, and debris blocked approaches to the building's entrances, the Lenta.ru news website reported Monday.

The Emergency Situations Ministry has sent 10 personnel and three pieces of equipment to the scene, the ministry statement said.
