Fifty-eight years ago, on Feb. 25, 1956, at the 1956 congress of the Communist Party, Nikita Khrushchev gave a secret speech denouncing the dictatorship of Josef Stalin. It perplexed delegates, as propaganda had depicted Stalin as a wise and fair leader.
