124 years ago, on Feb. 10, 1890, the great writer and Nobel Prize laureate Boris Pasternak was born. "All the mudslinging and commotion over Doctor Zhivago will be forgotten, but there will always be a Pasternak." his wife said, when Pasternak fell out of favor in the Soviet Union. His novel Doctor Zhivago was criticized by some for rejecting socialist-realist ideals.
