Eighty-two years ago today, on Dec. 16, 1931, the Romen Theater, considered the oldest and best known Romani theater in the world, staged its first full performance based on Romani author Alexander Germano's play "Life on wheels."

Since 1940, all of the theater's performances are in Russian.
