Fifty-two years ago today, on Oct. 17, 1961, the State Kremlin Palace opened its doors. The building was designed by Michael Posokhin and was meant to embody modern urban Soviet architecture. Many celebrities have performed on the stage of the Kremlin Palace, including Ray Charles, Sting and Elton John.
