Moscow's Crazy Roads: Runaway Truck Barrels Into Four Cars at Intersection

Editor's note: This video is part of a series. The Moscow Times will publish a selection of unusual incidents on roads in Moscow and the Moscow region in the coming weeks. Watch this space for more video clips.

A truck caused a major accident at an intersection during rush hour on Friday by apparently running a red light at full speed.

Footage of the incident — shot from the dashboard of a car that came just a few feet from also being involved in the crash — shows the truck slam into four cars waiting at a traffic light to turn left onto a wide road.

According to a description of the video, uploaded to YouTube by a user named Andrei Kosov, the truck's brakes had failed. The description also said that no one died in the accident. This information could not immediately be verified.

Moscow's Crazy Roads:

… we have a small favor to ask. As you may have heard, The Moscow Times, an independent news source for over 30 years, has been unjustly branded as a "foreign agent" by the Russian government. This blatant attempt to silence our voice is a direct assault on the integrity of journalism and the values we hold dear.

We, the journalists of The Moscow Times, refuse to be silenced. Our commitment to providing accurate and unbiased reporting on Russia remains unshaken. But we need your help to continue our critical mission.

Your support, no matter how small, makes a world of difference. If you can, please support us monthly starting from just $2. It's quick to set up, and you can be confident that you're making a significant impact every month by supporting open, independent journalism. Thank you.
