Citibank has opened a new branch offering Russian-language services in Brooklyn's Brighton Beach district, known for its large population of Russian-speaking immigrants, RIA-Novosti reported Wednesday, citing a statement from the bank.
The new bilingual branch will provide convenient banking services to the 360,000 residents of Brighton Beach.
Russian-language information has gradually become more prevalent in New York, and is now found on transport advertising and subway fare vending machines. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg even spoke several Russian phrases during his election campaign.
