Residents of the Krasnodar region’s Kushchyovskaya village, which was terrorized by a criminal gang for years and saw 12 people butchered last month, said authorities have failed to punish the officials who collaborated with the gang, Moskovsky Komsomolets reported Wednesday.
A senior Krasnodar region official, Valentin Burlachenko, was sacked by Krasnodar’s governor on Wednesday, but unidentified local residents told the daily that he was only a scapegoat because few officials in the village had been dismissed or face charges.
