Suicide Try by Lenin's Tomb

A Saratov region resident slashed his wrists in an attempted suicide near Lenin’s Mausoleum on Red Square late Monday, Interfax reported.

It remained unclear what prompted the unidentified resident of the town of Engels to try to take his life in public, the report said, adding that the man was hospitalized and would undergo a psychological check.

Another man was taken for a psychological evaluation after pelting the mausoleum with a roll of toilet paper and a book about housekeeping Nov. 27. His motives also were unclear.
