Washington Wolverines

LANDOVER, Maryland ) -- Chris Webber joined former Michigan Wolverines teammate Juwan Howard with the Washington Bullets, showing flashes of ability that brighten the team's future, notwithstanding a 103-102 loss to the Boston Celtics.


Despite spending the previous night flying from California following his trade from Golden State, Webber had nine points, nine rebounds and four blocks in 23 minutes Saturday. Howard had just one practice behind him, and hadn't played a high-level game of basketball since the NCAA tournament in March, but scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in 22 minutes.
