Three Jews Shot in New York

NEW YORK -- Three ultra-orthodox Jewish youths were shot by "an Arab male" as their van was approaching the Brooklyn Bridge on Tuesday, police said.

A witness said the gunman, riding in the passenger side of a passing car, shouted "Kill the Jews" in Arabic before firing, but police strongly cautioned that it was too early to link the incident to the Arab-Israeli conflict. Police spokesmen said there was no evidence of any kind of racially motivated or bias crime. One local radio station reported that one of the victims had died.
