CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Cavaliers moved to the verge of a team record with their 10th straight victory, beating the Washington Bullets 91-75 behind 22 points from Bobby Phills.
Cleveland needs one more win to match the franchise mark of 11 straight set last February and March. Washington has lost 10 of its last 11 games.
Tyrone Hill had 21 points and 15 rebounds for the Cavs Wednesday night, while their defense limited the Bullets to a season-low for points. It marked the fourth time during the streak that the Cavs have yielded fewer than 80 points; only one team has reached 100 against them during that span.
Mark Price scored 15 and Chris Mills 14 for Cleveland. Calbert Cheaney led Washington with 16 points and rookie Juwan Howard had 15.
Knicks 101, Pistons 93. Patrick Ewing matched his season high with 30 points and Derek Harper and John Starks each hit a pair of 3-pointers in the final minutes to help the New York Knicks snap a three-game home losing streak with a 101-93 victory over the Detroit Pistons.
The victory was the Knicks' sixth straight against the Pistons, who dropped their fourth in a row despite 24 points from Joe Dumars and 21 from rookie Grant Hill.
Hill and Dumars scored eight points each in the fourth quarter, but Detroit, which trailed 93-90 with 2:19 to play, made just one of its final six shots.
Charles Smith scored 23 points and Anthony Mason added 14 rebounds as the Knicks won their second straight after a five-game losing streak, the longest in Pat Riley's coaching career.
Bulls 105, Celtics 97. In Boston, Toni Kukoc scored 27 points and six other Bulls joined him in double figures as Chicago routed Boston 105-97.
B.J. Armstrong, Pete Myers and Will Perdue each scored 13 points, Scottie Pippen added 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and Steve Kerr and Bill Wennington chipped in with 11 points each.
The Celtics dropped their fourth straight game and 11th in their last 14. Blue Edwards led the Celtics with 19 points, Eric Montross added 18, David Wesley and Pervis Ellison each scored 14 and Rick Fox 12.
Dee Brown was unable to play for Boston after sustaining a contusion to his right hip and leg in Monday's game against Cleveland.
Jazz 117, Pacers 95. Jeff Hornacek scored 22 points and Karl Malone added 21 as the Utah Jazz extended their winning streak to eight games with a 117-95 victory over the Indiana Pacers.
John Stockton chipped in with 18 points and added 12 assists as Utah won for the 15th time in its last 18 games.
Reggie Miller scored 18 points to lead Indiana. He was 7 of 10, including a 3-pointer, but he was shadowed throughout the game by Hornacek. Byron Scott scored 16 points and Sam Mitchell added 15 for the Pacers, but Utah improved its record against Eastern Conference teams to 11-1.
SuperSonics 121, 76ers 102. Kendall Gill scored five of his 25 points in the final 3:34 leading a late 17-5 surge as the Seattle SuperSonics pulled away for a 121-102 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.
Led by Dana Barros and Willie Burton, the 76ers trimmed a 23-point first half deficit to 104-97 before the Sonics Gill, Gary Payton and Detlef Schrempf sparked Seattle's big finish.
Payton and Schrempf scored 23 points apiece for the Sonics, who won their 13th straight home game. Sarunas Marciulionis came off the bench to score 20 points.
Barros, a former Sonic, led the 76ers with 26 points.
