South Africa Triumphs

n HIGHCLERE, England-- Apartheid-free South Africa played its first game of cricket in England in 29 years in royal style with a win over the Earl of Carnarvon's Invitation XI. Queen Elizabeth II appeared Thursday, an appropriate spectator for this historic match. The dynamic Jonty Rhodes was the first to score a century for South Africa on English soil since 1965, with his 111 leading the tourists to 224 for three, and a seven wicket win in the 50 over match.
