Second Truce in Yemen

SANAA, Yemen -- After a day of pounding the southern Yemeni stronghold of Aden with artillery, northern Yemen offered a new cease-fire Thursday and the south accepted. Sanaa-based President Ali Abdullah Saleh ordered his forces to observe a cease-fire against their southern enemies from 6 P.M. on Thursday, Sanaa television reported. "We have accepted the call for a cease-fire," a southern official said in Aden. It was the second unilateral cease-fire declared by Sanaa this week. A truce Sanaa called for midnight Monday collapsed within hours amid mutual charges of violations
