Russia-Creditor Talks

MADRID () -- Russia held talks with its bank creditors Monday in Madrid in a bid to break a deadlock over a major debt rescheduling after Moscow brought a new initiative to the negotiating table.

Hilmar Kopper, the chief executive of Deutsche Bank, said the talks were still burdened down by legal technicalities, but was optimistic that an accord could be reached soon. "We are in a situation where we can hope to achieve a conclusion," he said from the IMF's annual meeting in Madrid.
