The dollar rose again against the ruble Tuesday on the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange, climbing five points to reach a new record of 1,716 rubles to the dollar. Trading volume stood at $26.15 million,with initial demand at $58.9 million and $50 million initially on offer. Fifty-six banks took part in the trading.
The Deutsche mark also strengthened against the ruble, going up four points to close at 1,118 rubles. Volume was 1.72 million Deutsche marks, and 29 banks participated in the trading.
