A boa constrictor went missing from a Russian circus, prompting emergency calls to the police about the giant and potentially dangerous snake on the loose — until it was found resting under a heat radiator in the building, a news report said.
Employees of a circus in the far eastern city of Vladivostok called police to report that a 2-meter-long, 40-kilogram boa constrictor had escaped from a terrarium, a spokesperson for the regional Interior Ministry branch said, Interfax reported Monday.
The alert was soon followed up by another report about the snake having been "found in the building, under a radiator," the spokesperson was quoted as saying.
Animal experts believe that the boa constrictor — deemed potentially dangerous to humans — had escaped to search for a warmer spot, the report said.
