TALLINN, Estonia () -- The Russian Embassy, in a note to the Estonian Foreign Ministry on Friday, requested the extradition of a Russian hijacker, embassy officials said.
The hijacker, Vladimir Bozhko, 36, seized a Russian airliner en route from Syktyvkar, northern Russia, to St. Petersburg and demanded that the crew land the plane in Tallinn.
He threatened to blow up the aircraft and asked for a new crew.
After negotiations with the Estonian authorities, Bozhko on Thursday released all 60 other passengers and nine crew members and surrendered.
