England in Command

PERTH, Australia () -- Graeme Hick hammered home 172 with a superb display of attacking strokeplay to put England in complete command against Western Australia on Monday.

Hick's 78th first-class century was made with mounting power and authority as England surged to 393 for six in its second innings -- a lead of 400 -- at the close on the third day of their four-day match. An overnight declaration now seems likely.

In Harare, Zimbabwe, a draw was declared Monday after poor light and rain prevented play on the final day of the third cricket test between Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. Sri Lanka was 402 all out and 20 for one wicket in its second innings. Zimbabwe was 375 all out.
