MOSCOW () -- A trained Russian bear has mauled a 30-year-old circus employee to death after being let out of its cage, Itar-Tass reported Wednesday.
"The trainer let the ... bear, called 'Youngster,' out of his cage without a muzzle on," Tass quoted a police spokesman as saying. "Without warning, the bear leapt on one of the employees, bit him and struck him with its paws."
The circus worker was taken to hospital but died of his injuries. An investigation was launched into the incident.
