Bombs Shake Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan () -- Powerful bomb blasts shook the downtown capital Dushanbe, injuring several people Friday on the eve of Tajikistan's presidential election and constitutional referendum.

The bombs went off at the agriculture ministry, a state-owned publishing house, a polling station and the international telephone exchange.

A Security Ministry spokesman said there were no fatalities though a number of people were injured by flying glass.

Sunday's election is a two-man race between incumbent leader Imomali Rakhmonov and former prime minister Abdulmalik Abdulladjanov.
